Default whats behind my fog covers? my03sti

I was about to have a look this morning while it was quiet at work, but didn't want to go home with bits of cover on my lap

So, have I got fog lights on an sti? Do I need to read the owners manual?

how come STi's don't get fog lights?

and how can subaru say you get "STi logo'd Foglight covers", when there aren't any? surely that just makes them "STi logo'd hole-covers"?

It does seem odd that a higher spec'd car should actually not have fog lights at all.
By the way, does anyone else get really annoyed with people who drive with front fog lights on all the time? If I have mine on in good weather, I always turn them off if something comes the other way.

isn't it a weight saving thing that they don't have them rather than a spec thing?

yes it is very annoying when people drive around with their front fogs on for no reason. i've found they are either aged 17 - 21 and think it looks cool in their 1.1 fiesta, saxo or 106 or they own a bmw.

i've owned fiesta's and bmws and now have a wrx with foglights and they only get used on country lanes when nobody is coming the other way. i find them pretty crap in fog tbh and prefer to just use dipped headlights.

I can never understand how people get annoyed when other drive with their'road / fog lights' on. Why?? They point at the road i.e downwards so dont dazzle oncoming vehicles at all. You are more likely to be dazzled by the dipped beam which points much higher up. As for being dazzled by a car behind you with fog lights on?????????? I do agree though that they do bugger all when driving in the fog. Totally useless as they only light up the road a few metres in front of car.

It's a case of any bright lights coming towards you are unhelpful to your visibility - therefore more lights are worse - hence annoying if not necessary.

So are you one of the numpties who drive round with them on when it's perfectly clear?

I always flash my fog lights at anyone I see driving with theirs on, it probably doesn't do any good, but it makes me feel better.

I do the same and if someone is behind me with their front ones on, I flash my back ones. If they dont take the hint then I leave them on so they glow red
It's against the highway code, it impairs the vision of other road users and is probably done because these people think its 'cool'. More importantly to me it signifies a clueless driver who doesnt know when it is or isnt foggy and they should therefore be reminded that it isnt foggy and there is no need for the lights to be on...Losers...
It also diverts all power from indicators and forces them to hold their mobile phones to their ear whilst driving I find

No. But it doesnt bother me when i see people doing it as it doesnt dazzle me in the slightest. I find oncoming xenon lights are far more annoying than lights that point down onto the road.

i agree - i use when i think i need 'em.

there are many more annoying driving habits than using lights when its dark- like not indicting to turn off a roundabout or NOT using lights when you should

Cool, front fog lights thread again.

How about next time we do one about mpg? Maybe someone could crash their scooby in a frozen lake and take a picture!

Having said that, knowing that using my front fogs has resulted in the death of thousands of third world children, raised global temperatures by 5 degrees, increased insurance policy prices by £845.63, caused the extinction of the lesser spotted pslewis troll and put petrol prices up again I've stopped using them for now.

Sadly most other drivers around me are still driving like tw@ts but at least I'm not using my front fogs.

If anyone moaning here wants a grip, I have a few spare...
