- excuse my ignorance but what is the JDM version???

I looked into the car and it had the embroided STI seats with 19996 rally championship i think...

but the car had a private plate so i don't know the year...

I've searched everywhere, is this a rare model?

Cheers
Alex

JDM = Japanese Domestic Market

USDM = United States Domestic Market

EDM = European Domestic Market

Without wishing to appear argumentitive, only JDM is a valid acronym. It does indeed stand for Japanese Domestic Market, but by definition a Japanese car can only have one domestic market, its home market. USDM and EDM are expressions coined by people who didnt understand 'JDM'. You cant have an European domestic market; the domestic market is in Japan.

There is a Type-SA 'Wagon but its nothing like an RA (well; apart from being the cheapest model in the range tha is...). The SA was an poverty spec 'Wagon model produced for one year from the 'Wagon's launch. It was lighter as a result of the expensive features not being fitted. The 'Type-SA' was intended provide an entry level model GF; Wagons account for the lion's share of Impreza sales in Japan...

Says a lightweight model sold only for the 1994 model year.

No vent though.

It wasnt 'lightweight'; it was lighter because it was poverty-spec...

Chris Rees book? Its snided with mistakes Daniel; it says that STIs have forged cranks as well doesnt it? I assure you that the 1994 model year GF8 Type-SA was a reduced specification entry-level model.

Theres one with a front-on studio picture of an Impreza on, but I cant remember the author nor title though. Im sure that somewill be able to point you in the right direction. Its not such a bad book (Chris Rees'), but its far from complete and he makes a number of big mistakes...
