Steam Clean...
Has anyone ever had their engine steam cleaned...?
I have a 95' Jap Classic WRX... It's is a relativley clean engine bay with only 56k mileage but I was wondering if steam cleaning it would damage the engine or anything else....
Or would I need to be careful of anything while the engine is being steam cleaned i.e. not too much steam in certain areas???
How much should it cost?
Any tips or advice etc.
Thanks in advance...

Go to Halfords and buy a £7.99 CD2 engine bay cleaner and detailer kit. Follow the instructions and cover your alarm, intercooler, alternator and fuse box. Amazing results. Do not use a pressure washer. Bob

Steam cleaning with hot water pressure washer works wonders on shifting ingrained grease, especially with a bit of truck wash added
Avoid alarm siren (cover it carrier bag and elastic bands), and avoid direct jets closer than 6" to the coil packs, boost solonoid/ignitor (driver's side wheel arch) and into the alternator. If you have a cone filter - again, cover it. Also don't get within 6" of the intercooler otherwise you'll bend the fins
