Hi All,
I have just rang my local Subaru garage up to see if they could get me the REAL Subaru mudflaps with the STI logo on... & was advised that they no longer sell them as they have been super seeded by the prodrive ones.... Is this true??
I know I could go to Scottlow & buy them cheaper but really wanted the real McCoy etc….

Do you think I could still find them in another subaru garage?????

I do not know if you can still find them, but I do know one thing - if you are prepared to pay them prices you must have too much money!
Get yourself on e-bay - there are stacks of favourable comments on here about the £45 flaps available.

There's no way i'd pay the prices they were after for real ones. £60 (performance_creations) on eBay do the trick just fine, a fifth of the price, and still stop crap flying up the side of the car.

think you will find that its all the same material, kaylan, it just depends on what thickness they are using, 4mm, 3mm etc. I had a look at making these myself and to be honest they are not cheap as the material costs a bit before you start.

i suppose the difference is profit margins mate, have a look around.

I've got Scott Lowe ones, they used the originals as templates so they're a good fit and over half the price.

Don't all third-party mud-flaps need at least one hole to be drilled into the wheel-well, whereas the genuine ones just screw into the existing holes? Or am I mis-informed?

as the subaru ones have been superseded, they are on sale on ebay for crazy prices, i got the subaru (not STi) ones off ebay for 20 quid, free postage, then when i checked who they were it was my main dealer getting rid of loads.
Lot of crap on ebay but if you are prepared to look around you can find some great deals!

The Scott Lowe ones require 2 holes to be drilled inside each of the front wheel arches, inner wing that is, otherwise yes they use the fixing for the sh*t shield.

mis informed im affraid, i have the mud bad ones from ebay, they are good quality and there are no extra holes to drill. they took me 40 mins to fit

I got mine on ebay from a company called mud ban, no need to drill wholes, you use the ones already there for securing the rear bumper and the plastic iner wheel arch. You get everything you need from them, including brackets and fixings. The rear ones have two sets of wholes so you can adjust the height.

come with STI stickers or subaru logos, the only differance between those and scoot lowe/prodrive ones are the rear ones arn't as wide.

£400 quid for mud-flaps is an absolute rip off! Paid £45 for some from ebay. I mean , they are only there to get muddy, or am I missing something??

they are excellent quality and so they should be, I bought some (flame jacket on), and although Scotts are an excellent product. side by side you can tell the difference

you do need to drill even with the genuine STI flaps

Got the Performance Creations ones on my MY05 Sti - at £60 you can have a new set each year and try out different colours !!

personally matey,i would get in touch with scott (megabusa)
his flaps are the best ive seen by far,also he does some lovely bonnet lifters and front lip spoilers,just in case you feel a bit festive with the credit card

I was given a good deal on the prodrive ones.... not sure what the difference is between them & the gen STI ones??
Anyone know???
