Default Prodrive springs...

How much should i expect to pay to have some fitted to MY 03 sti? Anyone else have them fitted to a newage scoob, do they make any real difference ??
Can anyone with these springs fitted on a newage post some pics so i can see if there is much difference in the ride height.

Cheers.

David.

I had mine done at Powerstation (www.powerstation.org.uk) and paid £165 inc VAT for fitting and 4 wheel alignment.
My local Subaru dealer wanted over double.
Also have a look here http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...hlight=springs

Anybody have a parts number for 04 STi prodrive springs?? I called the garage for a price and they said to get them a part number from subaru.co.uk Checked there and could only find MY03 STi :

http://www.subaru.co.uk/IMGGB/WWW/Su...4?Opendocument

Was wandering if they were the same?? If they're £225, what's a decent price for fitting and geom setup ontop £175 extra?? £400 all in?

How much are the Eibach ones? Could only find on (Scoobysport i think) a link for them, but it mentions they're not for an STi.

Our 03/04/WR1 springs are all the same and they come with new front bumpstops. SACC2555 is the Subaru part number.

I have an old Subaru service receipt here (springs put on by previous owner.) £118.00 for STI 03MY spring kit. Fitted for total of £191.41. The part number is that noted by Mike above.

I think it looks far superior to the standard STI (mine has 18's as well.) That large gap is filled. Mine also has front and rear strut-braces!!!!!

The pro-drive springs make a very big difference. I have them fitted to my 03 Sti with a front carbon fibre strut brace and front spoiler. The car handles a lot better around corners. But now also catches when reversing out of the drive. Oh well.

for a wrx i was getting quoted between 490-600 quid from subaru dealers. if i was you, i'd join the sidc, get a discount on the springs (pays for the membership ) and go to an independent fitter. probably save yourself a few quid over a stealer..

The "Prodrive Geometry" settings alone without the springs also make a big difference to the handling on the STI. A great deal of the understeer goes away.
This can be done for <£100

Had the prodrive springs fitted to MY04 Sti earlier this year and they certainly have improved the handling through corners. The ride is substantially harder and consequently my wife now refuses to come on my weekend spins ( another advantage not mentioned in the blurb ). The wheels ( standard 17"s also seem to fill the arches a lot better.
Paid the nose through Subaru to get the fitted but wanted to piece of mind / warranty for something pretty fundamental to keeping the car the right way up !

Which is fine, but to any one else reading this you're much better off having someone like Powerstation fit them very competantly without any safety issues for less then half the price.

Called the same garage as where yours was done. They're £191.41 + VAT + Fitting. Fitting they wanted £250 + VAT, which includes the Geometry setup.

So i'm lOOking at £518.66. I'm gonna try another dealer.

Hmmm, dont know if i can justify that expense before xmas, bugger! I was hoping for around the £300 mark all in. I mean just springs afterall...

Hey stephen, if your car was black/silver, it wouldn't be yours I'd of beaten you to it.

I take it this has to be done at a dealers. £520 for a set of Eibachs fitted is a sensational amount of cash .

£170 for the springs leaving a staggering £350 labour!!!!!!! Feckin' hell, what's their labour rate? £175 per hour?

Palmers in Carlisle did mine all in for 350 notes. As stated above the springs are £191.49 +vat. Makes a marked differance to the cars handling IMO, turn in is far better.

Well i booked it in at the dealers for this thursday @ £520. I called TSL and they fit the prodrive springs for £399 + vat. But by the time i get there from me visiting me folks the w/end when i'm south of the border and taking a day off work, it turned out easier to get it done with the brakes this week.

I'll let you know how it feels when it comes out. A little nervous it will firm the ride too much, but let's see...
