This is the answer:-

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SAVAGE-3-5-STR...QQcmdZViewItem

And its only £40!!

Now, thats the kind of deal I like!! Just cut your old pipe and fit this to it!!

I've seen these universal back boxes fitted to some scoobs (and other tarted up ****boxes), and they go hand in hand with the Fast and Furious wannabes.

This century's version of Tiger skin effect seat covers, fluffy dice and personalised sun screens

My advice is to duck round the back of Kwik Fit and have a rummage in the scrap metal skip. And borrow your mates Mig welder and angle grinder.

Old shape Transit diesel exhaust systems have a nice 3" bore and straight-thru silencers (guess what the next Frankenstein exhaust system on my landy will replace the current E-type Jag system )

You are only buying one of these with a pipe attached - and paying £300+

Shows how much you think of your car Lewis. I'd never even consider disgracing myself by fitting something like that to mine.

It's an adapter.

And its only universal where you connect it to your Subaru pipe!!

The biggest problem i can see is the fact that it has no hangers to secure it to the car, or do you intend to use some string??

Why not go for the Stateside Cherry Bomb instead? I believe they do a Muff D.I.V.E.R. version now.

I agree. When I can buy a brand new pattern exhaust system for any other car for as little as £50...that's for a cat back system , not just a back box. You can understand the view of how overinflated "uprated" systems are. Especially on certain brands of car.<cough> Subaru<cough>

Sure they may use use T0sommat Stainless steel, thicker tubing, maybe bigger bores, and straight through mufflers...but straight through mufflers are actually are easier and cheaper to make. And steel isn't that pricey. OK what about labour? Well, the time it takes to cut, bend and weld it all is almost identical regardless of metal type. In theory a £50 cat back exhaust system compromising of 2mufflers and 2 flanges should be more expensive to make than the cost of making a £200 backbox, as there is more to it.

Can't blame the manufacturers though...if someone is prepared to pay that much for a bit of tubular metal and steal wadding, then why not cash in on it?
