Just noticed a strange humming sound coming from the back of the car, it only happens on start up and then stops after about 20 seconds
It's not the same as the buzz the fuel pump gives when you turn the key.
It's on a 03 sti with ppp that's only done 7k
I'm guessing it's something to do with the fuel pump but should i worry?

Well if it was an older car you might say rear diff. But you've very low mileage. Defo worth dropping by a garage have it checked!!

 

I dont think it's the diff, as you dont have to be moving for it to stop, thats why i'm guessing fuel pump, just dont want to take it to the dealers and have them say it's normal ,then have it last till march and then the warrenty runs out....

My My02STI PPP gives a buzz from the fuel pump when you turn the key, which then stops quite quickly.

Then after you start it the fuel pump is loud for about 20 seconds, then it gets quiet.

I would say it was just the fuel pump working harder

 

Could be the same, only just noticed it, thats the trouble!
Car goes fine so i'll not worry about it too much
