Default What do these buttons and guages do??

Sorry to be so thick, but this is my first scooby.
What does this button do? Particularly the one on the right... i know the left one says IC water spray but is there a way to use this correctly?

Also what exactly does this guage signify? Outside temp? Charge temp?

Again sorry, any help appreciated.

Thanks!

By the looks of it the one on the right could be the fog light.

left is Intercooler spray.... water jets...

Not sure about the middle one...

i'm guessing you have an import going by the clocks. if this is the case i reckon it's the switch for the rear foglight as you won't find one on the stalks.

as for the guage i'm not sure either so would also like to know. mine always seems to reads about 20 c

No need to apologise -- we all need help sometimes. The button on the right is probably for your rear fog-light, which has been added because Japanese motors do not come with them fitted as standard. Does that middle light illuminate when you play with the switch..? You could also have a nose around the back of the car to double-check.

As for the temperature gauge, it might be for oil perhaps. Hopefully someone here on SN with better knowledge of gauges will confirm. Pretty sure it's not for coolant as it doesn't go high enough... but happy to be corrected.

they are the optional extra guages, lamco iirc? the far right one which is circled is oil temp, middle is volts, and the other end is boost. the top ones are for ic waterspray (it sprays cold water onto the top of your intercooler, it reduces the heat of the air entering your engine and supposedly increases the power, if used at the right time) far right as said above is fog light and the centre light will either be an indication light to let you know the fogs are on, or it may be an alarm light.

hth

Word to the wise if this is your rear fog light switch make shore when you go for an MOT it has a sticker on it saying fog light or just get a fog light switch
The point is as long as the MOT person can see somthing that indicates to him this is a fog light switch you will pass your MOT
I found this out only last month when my imported Mitsubishi Pajero failed its MOT this was one reason, the other was exhaust fums ott
I just stuck a label on it saying FOG, the sticker has now been removed though lmao
How stupid are the rules and how easly are they forgotten 10 secounds down the road

I have the Lamco setup on my motor, and the oil temp goes higher than that.

I dont think its oil temp on yours. possibly induction temp as it doesnt go high enough for oil and water

the I/C spray is the intercooler spray, use this before big boost usage. im pretty sure on classics they are not automated. Or you would have 2 switches, yours and one saying auto
ASTON

if you wanna get rid of those gauges give me a shout as the volts and other one would go nice on my dash

If that lamp in the middle of your switches lights up when the rear fog is 'on' then you won't need to worry about making your switch any more identifiable. To pass an MoT you simply need a 'tell-tale' that can be operated from your normal driving position.

Forget about the gauges, make an offer for the glove box you're missing!
