Angry Thieving scum

Heard some broken glass and a car alarm to find some scum had broken into my car and nicked my camera detector. If I'd had my shoes on I reckon I'd have had the buggers. Had the Police round 3 hours later, not that they have much chance of catching them. Probably to fuel some drug habit.

So new car window needed and the soonest Autoglass can do it is 2-4a.m. WTF? And in the meantime my car sits out in the street? And that's only to put in perspex. I'm glad I pay my insurance... Managed to find some local firm who'll drive the glass down from Birmingham and fit it this evening. Now that's what I call service.

And I now need a new camera detector. Had an S6 Neo. Anyone got any suggestions? And can I claim on my insurance or will it stuff my no claims?

So all in all, a pretty crap night so far, all I need now is a crap week at work to cap it off...

Snooper S6 Neo. Does go off all the time. Would probably do very well as a garage and shop door locator, but having said that it has saved me about 12 points when I've been on strange roads and not known the speed limits, thinking it's a 40 or 60 and it's actually a 30.

Definitely going to get it replaced with something though, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

P.S. And poor window guy is outside now freezing his ***** off...

Yeah, might look into the Origin.

lol Sirus. Perhaps you want to deal direct with my Insurance Co?!

Car all finished now (£280!!!!!!), new glass in and discovered they'd actually stuck a screw driver in and popped the glass. Scratched the trim in the process little bas'tards...

Pity the poor bloke outside in the cold though. It is bloody freezing!

Will bear that in mind. Have actually found it effective, so if the Insurance Co won't pay out, I may take you up on the offer. Definitely need one though, would probably have lost my license otherwise!

Still got the power lead and GPS antenna - if the Crime Scene people weren't all at a stabbing, they may be able to get some DNA which may have been left on the plugs when they were removed. But my crime doesn't quite count as much!

get one of those inforad detectors - £79 - full gps, a couple of leds and a bleeper if you exceed limit near a camera. cheap and effective - and not worth nicking.
no laser detection so no use against the mobile vans, but the detectors are no use anyway because it only takes 0.3 sec to get your speed - I know, my old snooper detector went off and I was done in an instant.

What about thinking along the lines of a Trackstar unit and have safespeed option - very discreet and you protect your car....... costs £8/month for complete up-to-date fixed speed cameras...and you'll get something off your insurance in the bargain !

Just got back from Tesco, so had it in the windscreen of the car :C Buggers.

Not sure which one to get to be honest, so I'm open to suggestions. Already have aTracker in the car, so can't really justify a combined one, although £8 per month for both is very reasonable.

Need to speak to the Insurance today and see if they will give me anything back towards it, otherwise I may end up with a cheap one! We'll have to see...

And to cap it off, woke with a stinking cold. Marvellous.

P.S. Heard from the Insurance company - they'll cover the window, but the theft excess is £400. The same as the value of the Snooper. And I lose 2 years no claims. Greedy buggers. So strangely, shan't be claiming...
