Hi all,

1st time post, just found this site.

Recently bought a MY98 Terzo. Awesome performance. Had a Honda CRX V-TEC before but the difference is night and day. A couple of gripes though.

1. Understeers like mad! And just doesn't grip in the wet. Previous owner fitted Avon ZZ1s. Heard that Bridgestone SO2s are better. Any comments?

2. Great lateral support on the seats but not enough lower back support. Find myself having to constantly shift my position. Anyone else have the same problem?

Appreciate your help

Cheers

Bas

PS Is it worth shelling out for a quickshift?

Ignore me then. Well my brother replaced his stock 15" wheels and Yokos, with 17" wheels and Pirelli PZeros. And this reduced a lot of the understeer.

Have fun Baz, after 2 suspension kits, and many spring setups, it's still not right.

If you get the car right, and after all that money I hope you do, then good on ya.

Bit of advice Bas, and welcome by the way.

Ignore JasonM, he is a newbie Muppet and knows bugger all about subaru's.

Take a look at the number of posts people have made, in general the more they post the more they know. Not allways true though

Bridgestone SO2 PP's are awesome on a subaru, i swear by them.

Get your car down to powerstation and get them to set the geometries and remove the bump steer, you will be very happy, i assure you.

Welcome Bas.

Brigestone tyres seem to suit the scoob the best, followed by Toyo's (good if you are on a budget)

I have the same problem with back support and am thinking of taking the seat apart to see what can be done to give that little bit extra.

I get to drive loads of different cars for work and adjustable lower back support is increasingly common - shame Subaru haven't followed suit!

I think it will only need a tweak of extra padding, if it can be done without destroying the seat.

I have done this to a few other cars in the past so I will let you know how it goes.

I dont think any other tyres apart from Bridgestone Potenzas should be allowed on a Impreza.

Welcome aboard.

Get some SO-2s fitted, Micheldever will fit a full set for £425. Not far to travel from where you live. Big improvement in the wet.

As for understeer go to powerstation in Cheltenham, and the bump-steer mod.
Use the search facility and enter bump-steer.

Ignore posts by cavalier boy. There are 2 types of ******* on the road. The 45 mph everywhere, and the my cars better than yours brigade who obviously don't care about trashing their car, their life or the life of any other motorist.

Enjoy your scoob.

Goodyear F1 Eagle. Might be cheaper than Bridgestone. Anyway eradicated all trace of tramlining and they are v. grippy in wet and dry.

Three pieces of advise

1. Go for Toyo T1-S much more forgiving than the S0-2 at the limit.

2. definitely get to Powerstation ASAP best 100 quid you can spend..

3. Ignore Muppets

Thanks for the advice guys.

From the comments I've read about ZZ1s, I think I'll get some SO2s right now, even though the ZZ1s have got a decent amount of tread left.

Oh and I've got my eye on Cavalier guy. What's he doing here anyway!!!

Thanks again

Bas

Am I doing something right without knowing it. People are bitching about understeer and I've not encountered it. And I've not been driving like Miss Daisey. All been safe though!

The B4stard just grips and goes round corners while I fall into the passenger seat.

How do I tell if the Bump Steer has been done?

And welcome Bas.

P.
