Would you keep 14 positive feedbacks to yourself? Selling peanuts to get a good score maybe. Either a scam or a mistake

Just too good to be true.

Does anybody recognise the location? those coaches are pretty distinctive!

Just done an online insurance quote, and that plate comes up as a WRX!

Scam for sure.

I just last week had my ebay account hacked,i received an email from an ebay user stating that he had not received the goods that he had paid for.
I had not supplied the guy anything so i returned an email stating that i did not know what he was on about.
Next thing i find out is that i cant log in,my password had been changed.
After emailing ebay,i recieved a reply informing me that an unauthorised person has accessed my account and was busy listing items for sale rangeing from mobile phones to cars such as this.
They were all one day listings,i guess he was hoping to get some payments in quick and leave me with the problems.
Ebay sorted out my account and credited all the listing fees, unfortunatley i am still receiving emails from the people that thought they had brought a bargain.

From the RAC website it comes up as

Vehicle details
Manufacturer SUBARU
Model IMPREZA WRX-STI TYPE UK
Body type 4 DOOR SALOON
Colour BLUE
Fuel type PETROL
Date manufactured 15 June 2004
Number of previous owners
Last owner change

Either a major fubar on the pricing or a scam

RE: Question for item #4591073132 - 2004 SUBARU IMPREZA WRX-STI PRODRIVE!

Hello,

I appreciate your interest for my car. First of all, the car will be
shipped from Torino, Italy where I`m located. My wife is italian and we
have decided to move here. Since I reside here now, I have recently been
informed by the italian police department that I need to change the
registration
of the car from UK to Italy, which also involves a very expensive duty
tax, a lot of paperwork, lots of lost time and so on. All this must be
completed by 25/DEC/2005 or i need to return it to UK
after that and since i have no relatives left back home, I`m forced to
sell it fast. Also, it is very difficult to drive a right-handed car in
Europe.
There is no outstanding finance on the car. It has not been stolen, has no
damage, no scratches or dents, no hidden defects. It is in immaculate
condition, meticulously maintained and hasn't been involved in any accident.
The motor runs awesome. The tyres are like new. On a scale from 1 to 10 it
is definitely 10. The carmeets United Kingdom DOT and EPA guidelines so
there will be no problems regarding UK Customs policy on receiving the car.
It comes with a clear title, log book, HPI cleared, it is free of
encumbrances and liens. You
will also get from me the keys and all documents to register the car
into your name. The main thing I need to know is if you have the conditions
of
providing a good home for it, if you have the means to complete this
transaction
and if are serious about the purchase.Buy it now price is GBP 4,500 with
shipping/handling included. I have paid good money for it but I have
priced it lower in order to get a fast deal, I am aware of that so you don't
have to remind me. Money is not an issue here as me and my wife earn a very
decent living here. Also i'd like to sell it to one of my
fellow countryman which will take very good care of it as it deserves,
europeans abuse their cars and it would be such a pity because it is
such a great car.
I think this is a very good offer since I have invested very much time,
heart and money in building this car and I will be sad to see it go, but my
loss will be someone`s gain,
hopefully yours.
I realize that is a cheap price for such a a great car, but my special
situation makes me do things that i would't do in normal circumstances
and belive me it is not easy at all for me to sell a thing which was one of
my dreams during last years.
If you agree with these terms, please email me your full name and
address so we can register the transaction with eBay and I will be more than
glad to complete the transaction with you.
I welcome your comments,
Cheers,
Jackie Mcgeoghegan

I smell a Roland Rat. no one would just write of 10K on a car, surely the 10K he's losing on the sale, and then the cost of shipping it from Italy, would not be more that any reg fees that need paying.

Why £4,500? surely it would still be a bargain at £10k, no one however rich would write off that much just for the hell of it..

Sounds genuine doesn't he. Better than those usual ***** who can't even speak English and when you write a racist email back to the scamming ****s, they don't even understand that you're being rude and abusive, and keep trying to scam you!

Of course the seller can afford to sell the car for £4500 - so could I if I was selling a car THAT I DIDNT OWN !

There has been a spate of these on Ebay recently, Imprezas, M3's, Aston Martins and a couple of Jags - all with the BIN at £4500, all using pics from old auctions that ended a while ago.

Sad thing is some muppet will think they're going to get a bargain ( or more likely think 'hmm, I can buy this and sell it on for a tidy profit' ) and fall for it.

REMEMBER - FRAUD ONLY WORKS BECAUSE OF THE BUYERS GREED !
