oh yes indeedy that sounds like a familiar situation, i saw a wrx i fancied last year but i couldn,t face getting rid of my concourse rs turbo (1990) so ,much to the wifes abuse i kept it ,and i still have both cars now

I used to be a really active member of the rsoc, had an xr2i, which I then transplanted an RST engine into, much to the disgust of the ford purists and owned an RS1600i briefly.
I always said I'd never go jap, there might even be threads on here dating back from 1999 when I used to come over with the cossie lads to play up the scooby crew
Just bought my first scoob last week *grin* and am very happy to be over here on the dark side

had 2 series 2 rs turbos slightly modified 4 years ago had some fun with a scoob in the first one once and as soon as i heard it go and humiliate me i wanted one but had to wait a few years for price and insurance to come down so got another rs a vr 6 golf and finally a scoob and it was definately worth the wait but do still like the rs turbos especially the series 1 wanted one early on but a good one still fetches a good price wouldnt mind one as a 2nd car now if i could afford it.

Yep not just the RS's either, 2 Mk1 XR2's, 2 Mk2, 2 Series 1's, 2 Series 2's, and a Mk5 XR3i and RS2000, never owned the Cosworth brand, it was the scoob or a 3dr, and as good as 3dr's are they're old and high maint'.
I even still go to the local meet every now and again.

I'm an (e)X RS owner too - had a Mk 1 RS2000 for 9 years from 1975, and a 3-door Cosworth for 11 years from 1988, when I bought my first STi .
I too keep looking at the resored RS2000s available, but then I remember how heavy the steering was, and how much older I am now

Still have my Sapphire Cosworth track car, but have been on here for years, and been a long time Subaru fan.
I went to the darkside with an MR2 Turbo, but would still dream of a 22B sat on the drive.

I had a Mk1 RS1100, (made it myself) from a standard 1100 deluxe(??). It had RS froint wings, full RS suspension, 13" wheels ( ), Full rally lighting, and an RS interior, including instruments, but with Corbeau seats. I kept the 1100 lump and brakes and used it until I could afford to insure something quicker. It handled like a dream though.
The first something quicker was a Mk1 Escort Mexico, in yellow with the wide black stripes.
I swapped that after three years for a Mk11 RS Mexico.
What I REALLY wanted was a RS1800, but never got one
I'm driving a Scoob now because I went after a Cossie Escort, but wife refused to let me pay over £20,000 for a two year old car
My ideal car would be the Ford RS200. Eventually, I'll build one of the replicas.....................probably just before the Lying Labour nanny state bans replica/kit cars!

Yep, had mine for 23 years a modified RS 2000 FMC 555V, it just got too much in the end. I took it once to an "Old School" track day at Bruntingthorpe, done a set of tyre's, brake pads, gear box ( rebuild ) and I had to have a load of stone chips sprayed in. Then decided, that this is what I wanted to do, I could not bare the thought of having a crash in my escort, thinking whilst driving on the track, what if, instead of concentrating on where I was going. So unfortunatly, decided to sell her. Bought myself a Scooby, and never looked back.

I had a fiesta RS turbo just before i bought the Scoob, it didnt have power steering which was a big downside. She was mint and only had 37,000 miles on the clock on the original engine. I still go to National day and saw her there this year, i know she is being very well looked after and thats what matters. Do miss her but love my new baby more than i thought possible.
Mate has rs2000 which he is restoring and rs200 which is fun
