*ouch*

At least you know the limits of the car now, albeit an expensive way.

I almost had an off at camp on my first session at Coombe. I was fortunate enough to gather things together after I fukced up. Shame really 'cos you were going well - all though REALLY committed into a tricky corner.

hope you ended up fine

****ter T5NYW. i thought you were going to hold it until the fatal flick the other way.

i've done that in my old bmw compact into a tree.

does insurance payout for trackdays? or is trackday cover injury only? either way its gonna cost.

gutted mate...

I had my first ever track day earlier this year at cc and I was bricking myself.
not going any where near your speed so good on yer and that corner camp i found the hardest. everyone talks about quarry as the danger corner (esp in the wet) but I found trying to get camp (sounds gay saying that ) at the right speed and come out just on that little bit of overflow track the hardest to master so feel for you.

loads of commentry i see from the typical "ski sunday" crowd (u know the ones that only watched ski sunday for the crashes !! )

hope the day was enjoyable up to that point...

It looked like it had slowed right down until the **** end flicked round, top entertainment before that though . I think that was the corner my mate Dave put his Escort Cossie through the gap in the tyre wall and hit the gate post .

Wink

Thanks guys,
Yep I was scrubbing off the speed well but "Frooze" instead of winding off the opposite lock. Front regains grip before rears then the equilent of a bike "high sider". In other words with a 4x4 once corrrected the slide the steering wheels should be pointing where you want to go.

Yep the Black classic was going well but never askde to go by (he did once i ws in the wall

Tony

Ps the cheering never upsets me, I'd excepted the praise if I'd have got it right

PPs Yes L&V paid up, Yes i told them it was on a track, L&V rocks

I didn't but the discription and events on Claim form would EXACTLY match what happened (didn't want to give them a get out clause or me 4years in Jail for deception)

I seen the car after the crash, but missed when it actually happened.

Did have some pics of the results but lost them when i got a virus.

Gutting, but not so bad if the insurance paid out for you. Did you pay extra to cover u for the track or did they just cover it anyway??

You were totally committed coming through that corner on all those previous laps, but as you well know, Combe gives you no margin for error.

I did the same at EXACTLY the same spot in my MR2 but didn't try to correct it, and ended up roof high in the cornfield in the centre of the track!

Yes quite commited as you say Coombe is a Technical circuit, I just run out of Technique on the last lap a "good" driver would have saved it IMHO
