Hello all.
I have just purchased my first Impreza, a MY96 STI.
After lurking here and trying to learn as much as i can, i now have a few questions i hope you guys can help me with.
My car has 70000 miles on, is mostly standard apart from a cat back exhaust and a dump valve.
Obviously i want things to run as well as possible, from reading here it seems that engine failiures occur due to the maf sensor.
First question is do you think its worth changing my MAF as a matter or course to help protect the engine?
If so are the 96 STI MAFs the same as 96 WRX MAFs?
Would it be difficult for me to get a MAF for this car?

Also if you have any other tips for a new Scooby owner then i would be very happy to hear them.

AFAIK MAF's should be the same, for your model they cost a small fortune though

I just want things to be running well, and to last me a while. If me replacing the MAF which has dome 70000 miles for a new one means i can drive it with more peace of mind, and posibly a little harder with more engine safety then it must be a good investent.

Having said that i welcome all opinions on the matter.
