Default Fiesta Shame

Need some feedback.. Just had a fiesta, one of those boyracer types right up my ****, I floored it, ok Full car Turbo2000 and the ******* stayed with me, only on corners did he lose space on me...

What the HELL could he of had under the hood to keep up with me?

Ok so my cars a 5.7 0-60 Full of people, low on fuel and the turbo seemed really laggy, no where near as sharp as normal!

Does low fuel reduce the turbo ? does the ECU control the amount of fuel, ie cuts powers to save fuel ?

But having 5 people in the car (300kg), bringing the overall weight to around 1550kg, will slow you down considerably. Compare that to a 950kg fiesta rs turbo, and all becomes clear!

but an RS turbo which is easily tuned to 200bhp will toast yours (assuming its fairly standard) with 5 up?

A while back when I had a Supra TT, I was four up and couldn't lose a mini cooper S, which had I been on my own, I would have wasted.

I wouldnt worry about it mate, you'd have toasted him if you'd have been on your own!

..........then again, so what if you didn't, there's always a bigger fish!

It's always nice once you've dropped the passengers off and the car goes like a rocket again!

How low on fuel?

Thought it is always best not to run lower then 1/4 of a tank and boot it, fuel starvation?

used to have a 150bhp fiesta rs turbo, and they are very quick when moving, i gave a early classic a fright upto 135mph(i was flat out). there is very little lag, all hell breaks lose at 2000rpm! as said easy to tune to 200bhp and weighing just 950kg they certenly fly

I have m8y, an sti 4, stage 1 mods, 315bhp. The only car that I got properly wasted by was a TVR Tuscan. Kept up with the likes of GT3 (01), Audi RS6, Evo 6 etc.
I eat Fiesta Turbo's for breakfast!

Just waiting for the 'You shouldn't drive fast or enjoy you car!' mob to turn up!

Or a very well sorted RS1800 can give a good challange.

Although from a standing start it would be a completely different story

Remember once you're out of 1st and rolling it takes a massive amount of power to REALLY pull away from anything with a little more than standard family car power.

I have been tailgated by TDi golfs in my 05 wrx and only been able to make moderate headway from them and I have tried to keep up with a 911 turbo (04 plate) and pretty much stayed with him to 110 at which point my anti boy racer device (wife) activated and told me to slow the f**k down and stop acting like a teenager!!! Don't get me wrong he was pulling away from me but only at the same kind of rate as I would pull away from a Golf TDi or V6 Vectra etc. there was certainly no whoosh about it....

Anyway... who gives a s**t really!

don't worry about it, you'd need a hell of a lot more power to weight than the fiesta to leave him for dead if his foot is flat to the floor.

plus you've got to rag the **** out of a turbo car to keep it on boost/in the power band etc if you really want to fly

last thing least, maybe he's a better driver than you? counts for an awful lot of horsepower does driver skill

I used to own a well tuned R5 GTT Raider. Ran 23psi, uprated fueling, clutch etc etc blah blah. As quick as chipped fiesta turbos as friends of mine owned them at the same time.
Anyway, i had my *** handed to me by a nice looking WRX when i tried to be clever.......

Dont know about your cars but if mine couldnt beat a starlet id sell it and as for not pulling away from a TDI id shoot myself.

Driving back from Edinburgh at the weekend i had a mini cooper s racing an A3 1.8t which looked modded and they where right up my chuff when i was overtaking a lorry. Wasnt out to race but this kind of driving annoys me so i floored it at about 70 in 3rd and honestly thought they were going backwards i easily pulled away from them and quickly.

As for golf TDI's i used to have one and they are not that fast. Raced an other **** sitting right on my bootlid in an A4 1.9TDI(same engine as golf) and i thought he had stopped. Wasnt untill i slowed down to a cruise at 80 and he came by me with black smoke pouring out the back that i knew he was really trying. Bet he thought he beat me as i slowed down then a good while later he flew past.

People who say WRX and STI are not that fast are either on something or their cars are mince. Not saying its the fastest car on the road but come on guys. Starlets!!! Golf TDI's!!!
