Talking E46 M3- STI 8 PRODRIVE

Well after finally selling my M3 at the wknd due to financial reasons. ive now bought a sti my03 prodrive.
must admit i was sad to get rid of my M3 but needs must and all that .

after sorting out a few initial problems wiv the scooby. all is now well and i am now starting to enjoy the car.

im not going to compare the 2 cars as that wouldnt be fair as they are completly different cars. but must admit the scooby is alot more fun to drive and wow how much grip does it have.

so im going to probly bore u all with stupid questions about the car[i will try the search options first tho]

but here are 2 to start with
1= whats the keyboard pad thing in the fuse box inside the car
2= it has the ppp option and was dyno'd at 291bhp at the wknd but hhow can i get more power? wud be nice to see it more then my M3 which was 343bhp

thanx guys...Lee

Hi mate & welcome to the mad house =

1) = That's the manual overide for the alarm.

2) try some aftermarket companies like TSL 333 package or WRC Tech 350 package to transform the car!!!!!

The keypad is the overide for the alarm/immob in case your keyfob doesn't work. In your paperwork you should have a pin number which you enter into the pad to deactivate the alarm in the event of the fob not working. I have to do this a couple of times on a MY01 WRX as there was always interference from bloody nearby pylons. The pad can also activate different functions of the alarm system such as programming the doors to lock when the ignition is turned on. Should have a booklet for the alarm whcih explains all this.

As to tuning the car to 340BHP, easily done if you don't mind waiving goodbye to any warranty that is left. All of the respected tuners have their own packages but a full decat and a remap should see you up to the 320 bhp mark.

Hi mate welcome, I'll try and answer your questions,

1. The key pad is for the alarm IIRC will try and find a link on here somewhere that tells you more about it (or someone else wilth far greater knowledge than me will be along)

2. As for more power than the M3 then off the top of me head try http://www.wrc-tech.co.uk/subaru-04sti-WRC350.htm for £1600 you get 350bhp but all depends on how much you want to spend, you could go for the 400bhp for just under 8K.

Enjoy the car

thanks guys..im not to bothered abt the warranty it did have a slight problem and instead of getting subaru to do it under warranty the guys at the sccoby clinic done it as they seem to know more about the car than my local dealer.
what does a de-cat involve exactly. the car already has a full exhaust system with sports cats. not sure if its standard ppp or not?
TSL 333 package or WRC Tech 350 wots that exactly? who does it? how much?
thanks chaps

You can do it alot cheaper than this!! I have a 3inch turbo back decat system, HKS ecu and EVC boost control and that develops 300 at the wheels using the 24% loss thats 372 Bhp. All in for under 1600!

If you're really getting 372hp (which I doubt you are, certainly not consistently) then start saving for repairs.

I'm interested why he should save for repairs, as the new age STI can handle power upgrades easily upto 400 bhp.

372 on a VF35??? Wow, you must have visited Merlin motorsport. Shaun, watch out these STi8's are far better than those new Spec C's & JDM's for modding it seems.

Not disintegrating the turbo, although VF35s can, just that they can't do the silly power figures.

They are good for about 320 BHP on believable rollers.
