Question Insurance notification help

Will be putting a second hand WR Sport back box on my 05 STI soon. Anybody give me the exact wording for my insurers? I assume it makes no difference to performance (just noise)

"Non Standard exhaust" was what the insurance company listed on my certificate.

It will most probably make a difference to your premium, as it's a non-standard part.
I wouldn't risk "wording" it - just tell em, otherwise it's fraud.

Hope this helps.

i just changed insurance companies and told them i had a full stainless system on my jdm wrx and they haven't even listed it. ok so i'm going to check that they'll cover it but they didn't seem to be that bothered.

guess you'd need dyno printout to prove it. i'm guessing it will still go down as a mod as it's not standard equipment for that model.

It does not matter, non standard exhaust is a non standard exhaust regardless of what it does to power output...

I know insurance companies say it`s a none standard part even though it is in the accessories catalogue from the dealer. So does this mean, when mr bmw man buys his 318, and loads it up with goodies from the dealer, so they will take it of his hands 2 years down the line when he trades it in for a new one. He has to declare them all to the insurance company as they are non standard parts.
