...Okay, I am a complete dummy/newb when it comes to engines, so please bear with me.

Ever since the oil was changed in my MY03 WRX on Friday (by the dealer) there is a smell like 'heat' inside the car, not all the time, it comes and goes. The car is not overheating and it is driving fine. There is also no sign of any smoke etc.

Now, having read some threads on here, it could be something to do with the Rocker Cover Gasket? Where is this and what does it look like?

Or, it could possibly be some oil spilt or dripping onto the Manifold. Again, where is this and what does it look like?

Sorry if these seem dumb, but I would just like to take a look if I can, in case it is something that can be easily remedied. If that is not possible, then its back to the dealer on Monday

I would really appreciate it if someone could post a photo of the engine and show me exactly where to look, kinda like an idiot's guide

I have a service manual on CD, but cant make head nor tail of it!

if it just started smelling since the oil change you had on friday then it"s more than likely to be a bit of spilt oil,i always get it when i change mine,smell goes after a couple of days.
