It was at the end of the drag section, not sure what he hit as it was hard to see. There was an ambulance there and i think they cancelled rest of day. This was about 3pm. Which is when i left.

Andy is unharmed according to witnesses

Car is very heavily damaged I understand, don't want to give any more second hand details, I'm just relieved Andy is OK.

Unhappy

Andy is ok, car isn't he'd just gone through the quarter (140mph) when he hit standing water, car instantly spun to the left straight into the path of Mikee Singh missing him by inches, then went sideways into a post & barbwire fence lining the runway, don't think one panel wasn't dented or scratched to **** a real shame but im sure he'll bounce back

From where the spectators were stood (about 600 yards away) Andy appeared to get out the car and was OK.

Paul... Andy was at Elvington and lost control of the car having just passed the 1/4 mile marker circa 135mph

Hope Andy and the car wern't damaged

Glad to hear you're ok Andy.

BTW, when you were talking about shortening (sp?) the wheelbase on the car I thought you meant in the workshop over a few day not in York in a few seconds.

Speaking to Mikee, who was running against him at the time of the incident, Andy's fine, the car is a bit bashed from going through a fence on the left hand side of the main drag strip at Elvington...

Drga radials, 130+mph and standing water don't mix by the sounds of it!

I was at Avon Raceway today. It was raining in the morning but cleared up in the afternoon. The Race Director called it off due to too much standing water on the track and not being able to dry and clean the track in time. I was a bit annoyed but now understand why they put safety 1st.

Elvington run rain or shine. Its okay with normal cars but when a cars are doing high trap speeds with slicks it becomes dangerous.

It could have ended very badly by the sounds of it.

Very, Mikee still sounded a bit shaken when I got off the phone with him a few minutes ago...I guess stairing Andy in the eye at 130 ish with him less than a car length in front of you (going backwards) when a millisecond before he had been to the right of you would do that...

Especially with that grimace of his:
