Default What should i look for? Buying 52 plate wrx

I am going to buy a 52-plate wrx next weekend. Its only done 14k and has been serviced by subaru 3 times. The guy says it still has the original tyres. One family owned, a 58 year old for more than 2 years then his son. Its still got 2 months warranty left. Is there anything i should look out for?

Cheers

Yes, I would personally never buy a performance car unless it'd been professionally inspected; try the RAC or have a word with a local subaru specialist. Negotiate a price subject to the inspection revealing no probs.

Good luck,

cobwebs by the sound of it

Have a good long drive, make sure its cols when you first start it, all the usual really.

For peace of mind, ask the guy if it can be looked over by a scooby specialist if one is local. If theres nothing he is hiding there is no reason he should mind

Good luck, lovely car too

Is the WRX on a 52 plate a MY03 shape or a late bugeye?
if a bugeye... save your money for a MY03+ model IMO
edited to say i know Corrodoboys car is a blobeye.. but am asking if the car thats being bought in the thread question is a bugeye?

Phil

I've had it 21 months and I didn't buy it to look at it Several trips to the West Country, Scotland, The Lakes and countless days out in the Yorkshire Dales, N.Yorks Moors and Derbyshire Peaks soon puts the mileage up. Back in Devon in a couple of weeks, hopefully setting up the newly fitted AST coilover suspension set-up on some good roads and getting the geo done by Powerstation whilst in the area

BTW, mine may be a 52 plate, but it is a blobeye
