they're the same seat mate, just different colours, the bolster of the seat is the same. seems newer spec seats are considered worse!

prodrive recaro's might be an option, or if driving is your job you might want to look at the recaro ergonomic(sp?) seat. fookin expensive though

might it be your back that's the problem and not the seat?

Dude I had a 98 Terzo for a year and tried everything, I still have a large collection of Sparco Cushions in all different shapes, sizes and even an inflatable one but nothing worked........... It Simply killed my back.

I now have an 02 STi type UK and it's fine up to about 100 miles then I get an ache, 200 it hurts and over 300 it's Chairopractor time again.

Mind you it'll be gone tomorrow and I'll be a BMW owner so hopefully some comfy motoring may be on the cards for a while

I've got a 55 WRX Wagon, with the STi seats.

When you get in they are all huggy and comfy but like Listy after 100 miles they start to show that they are built for bony arsed Orientals and not Lardy arsed Brits.

My right thigh is aching like **** at 200 miles and i am crying out for for cruise control (Wuss!!).

Still only had it a month so I'm hoping I can jer-jer-jiggle the adjustments to make it more comfy. Still the best car I've ever had tho!!

I've got the standard SRS Airbag seats in my bugeye and they're fine. I drove a 5 hour round trip last Friday to pick up my new Rota's and no back problems at all (and I do normally suffer from back pain from sitting on my office chair at work).

Do you do any exercises to strenghten your mid-section and lower back?

I find my MY99 uncomfortable too on long drives, but I've found a position that feels a lot better. The main difference for me is that I've a strong back and stomach muscles and this really helps with my general posture. I also do a lot of stretching (as part of my exercise routines) so maybe this is more of a help.

Default same problem

had the same problem when i bought my 00 turbo 2000
the pain in my back was awefu.l i was well anoyd cos i loved the car but the seats felt like they were braking my back. i seem to have found a way around it. the two adjusters to the side of the seat i moved the back of the seat (the bit that the back of you **** sits on) as high up as possible and ive never had back ache since

hope this helps

Yeah, but do you do anything while you're there? I found sit-ups, leg raises, dorsal raises, etc.. are good for stabilising my back.

And don't let your waist get the better of you too as it'll put more stress on your lower back.

Where is the pain in your back?

lower lumbar i'd say where the curvature of the seat is most pronounced outwards, wouldn't say my waist is big I easily fit in a 32"

Also, since your hamstrings are tied into your backup it's worth checking you've got adequate support under your legs too. I find that makes a big difference for me.
