The STi Type-R's are quoted by Subaru as coming out of the factory with 280bhp but realistically they are 300bhp. I have a standard one running on 100 octance that has 330bhp.

Mine made 320bhp/305ft/lbs after a Tek3 and de-cat, no idea what it was running before when it was standard but probably around 280bhp.

Surely thats impossible from a 'standard' STi5 Engine??

It was running on 100 octane. I meant to say, I just found out it has a Cusco Centre section but still has the standard STi backbox and cat.
It has an aftermarket ECU but when I ran it against my mates STi Type-R V5, which is TOTALLY standard, they had identical speeds and acceleration, so my ECU makes no gains!

so? the 280bhp figues quoted for stantard is rated on 100ron man! im getting my type r sti dyno'd next week, mapped for 100ron fuel by Andy f @1.35bar, full exhaust system with downpipe,up-pipe,equal length headers, lightened flywheel, paddle clutch, hope to see over 300bhp, if i saw anything over 320 il be very very impressed, its the fastest scoob ive been in but none of my friends have ever had theirs tested
