According to this it comes from a company called Greenergy:

http://www.greenergy.com/products/99_octane.html

and the full spec is here:

http://www.greenergy.com/products/te.../99_octane.pdf

I think the spec is mostly just the various limits that it needs to adhere to to meet BS 7800, I know it contains 5% bioethanol but the max percentages of alcohols are probably just limits, not typical.

And some still slate it labelling it as"supermarket fuel"of inferior quality

Just found more info about the Purfleet part:

-snip-
Delivery
Our main fuels storage facility is at West Thurrock, Thames where we stock our full range of fuels including bespoke biofuel blends. We also have product availability from Purfleet, Thames; Immingham near Grimsby; Leeds; and Grangemouth in Scotland. Customers with their own trucking facilities can lift product ex-rack directly from these terminals, or we can deliver product to customers wherever they are in the UK.
-snip-

and also, intriguingly:

-snip-
We have operations in the UK, Germany and Switzerland and employ some 30 people.

Is Tesco 99 RON the fuel of choice now? Over Optimax?
