Subaru To Offer D Spec. STi ......
Just seen this article:-
"However, Subaru realises that the car's looks are an issue for some, and will be introducing a "D" spec STi model, which will lose the rear roof vane and wear a toned-down rear spoiler, as well as more subtle wheels (as in "not gold"). It'll also gain a more opulent leather interior and possibly more sound deadening to mute the heavy metal thrash that is a WRX in a hurry. Look for this one early in 2006"
Looks like they have realised that only CHAVS want Gold Wheels????
For the 'Grown-Ups' there is the D Spec. with opulent Leather - Class, Subaru!!

For the Grown-ups there is the spec-c, for the old fogies there is the D spec.

However, the final details/specs are not set in stone and are subject to change.
I asked about losing the scoop at their recent press conference. The reply: "We want to keep the responsiveness of the engine. Changing to a front mounted intercooler would create more lag, which is not something we want to do."

Its a nice idea, I just hope that they offer silver wheels to all Imprezas as a no cost option for those who want them.
Personally I do not go for leather interiors. They make too much noise, and do not offer enough bum grip. They are also too hot when left in the sun, and too cold when its winter.
Each to their own, I wish them good luck.

Seems a sensible move IMHO, well worth looking out for, but I feel it will end up a limited edition like the MY02 prodrive edition STI did.
