Strange steering sensation on uneven roads
When I drive over bumpy or uneven road surfaces, my car feels like it is pulling left or right.
Is this normal (I guess not)?
I've just shelled out £1600 for a gearbox rebuild (don't ask!) so be gentle

You could be describing 'tramlining' (where the front wheels follow the contours of the road). this was common on the 'classics', not heard it mentioned much lately tho'. A gearbox rebuild shouldn't cause it tho' ?!?.. Has it only done it since the rebuild??

It's a bugeye WRX, funnily enough with Toyo's on the front......
The gearbox rebuild cost me a lot of money, so I didn't want a load of "oh dear, that's gonna cost you" replies :-)

'Cos I've never done it on my Scoob, others may correct me.
But on different cars, folks have various ways of releasing driveshafts, sometimes involving releasing bits of suspension.
Now, if when it's all reassembled the suspension isn't realigned properly, you may get such effects.
I've even found on some cars just refitting strut tops slightly out can cause problems.
Then, as others say tyres, but check tyre pressures first.

I`ve got Yoko`s all the way round and they are a great tyre, round corners there awesome....
But, i have also noticed when going, lets say quite fast, on straight roads that if the surface is uneven/bumpy, then the car does drift slightly either way depending on the camber of the road. It does tend to feel a little un-nerving but i thought thats how the ride was
I got a 2001 Bugeye
