Question

Can anyone tell me the offset and PCD required to fit aftermarket alloys to my scooby and what makes cater for these.

Also does anyone know the cost of the 90K service(aprox) which includes the cambelt change.

cheers

Go for an offset between ET45 and ET52.

Wheels in the dealerships are generally ET50, aftermarket companies generally sell wheels in ET45. The original Speedline Super Turismo's are ET55 and will not clear Subaru 4 pot calipers, or most aftermarket brake upgrades, including Prodrive's own kit.

Wheel manufacturers prefer to cast at ET45 as they say this makes the wheel stronger. This then allows them to make it to the same strength, but it will be lighter. The lower the ET rating the more the wheel sits out in the arch. The benefit is greater feedback from the steering wheel, the downside is that some tyres may foul the rear arches when the car is fully laden with passengers. Although a wider profile, the SO2 in 215/40 profile is less prone to fouling than the PZero in 205/45 due to the shoulder shape. If you have driven on both tyres, you will want the SO2 anyway. Only use 17x7, not 17x7.5

90k service is a combination of 45k and 30k. Its the biggest service the car ever has and expect to pay around £570-620 incl vat, for all parts and labour.

The best offset to go for is 50, as the problem with the more common 45 offset is that if you fit 215/40 x 17 then you may have trouble with the tyres hitting the wheel arches when loaded as I did with mine when I had Rimstock Monza's and 215/40 x 17 Falken's, so its better to use 205/45 x 17 tyres which solves the problem, but with these you can't get the same range of tyres as the 215/40 size ie Goodyear F1's or S02's which most people seem to rave about.
However Rimstock have now brought out a 50 offset wheel which retails for approx £125 each which is a lot cheaper than OZ's etc
As for the service, not got there yet, so no comment
