Default Knocking noise on my03 STI

First time i noticed it today on the way to silverstone. It's a strange knocking noise coming mainly from the rear of the car. Only started to happen as i pulled off the motorway after about 30 mins driving. Then on the way home likewise, it's almost as if it starts to occur when the engine is warmed up, but the noise is coming from the underneath of the car. The exhaust maybe? Anyone else had any similar problems? I've only had the car a week so i'm hoping it's something easily fixed.

Cheers.

David.

It's probably your suspension that's knackered. It's a common thing with STi's.

Pop along to the dealer and get him to sort it. It's a warranty job so wont cost you a penny.

It's the rear shocks

My MY04 sti is back in the dealers on Monday to have new ones fitted under warranty.

It's a known problem with the STI so your dealer should sort it under warranty

Rear shocks, as said most of the '03 STi's seemed to chuck them just had mine replaced, remember to tell the dealer it is the shocks otherwise he might try and fob you off with fitting droplinks.

My 03 PPP STi is going in for exactly the same thing wednesday week. Knocking noise coming from the nearside rear, shows itself more at low speed or when taking left hand bends.
Like evryone else says a common thing thats gonna be sorted out under warranty :-)

for everone with rear strut problems you have to now that from 2006 your car(MY03) will start to lose the warranty and if you what to keep the car you will have to think about other solution than to go to the dealers to take car of the problem
