Angry Grrrrr - B*****y Seat Belt Warning Beeper

Guys

Any easy way to disable the seat belt warning buzzer thing? (MY03).

I do wear my belt all the time, but automatically click it off when I get into work car park etc and I can't seem to get out of this habbit.

Thanks

M.

Go to a scrappers armed with a seatbelt cutter and get a seatbelt male bit from a new age scooby (dont know if classic bits fit). Plug it in and hey presto!.

Underneath the drivers seat there is a connector ... it's located just by the seat rail nearest to the handbrake housing. Disconnect the two parts and your annoying beeping will disappear!

No problem matey ... had the same problem when I fitted race harnesses into my car.

Should be easy to find the wire as it's usually dangling from the seatbelt terminal. Best to put the seat as far forward as possible and work from the back footwell.

BUT will this result in the airbag not firing in the event of an accident?

Thats good to know, as it get on my nerves, when you need to pull the car off the drive, to get something out the garage, and it starts bloody bleeping. Whats the point of sticking the seat belt on when im reversing off the drive which takes all of 20 seconds.

Nope ... I checked with my subaru dealer before disconnecting. It's just a sensor which checks whether the seatbelt is in the seat belt clip thing. European safety directive requirement.

Has nothing to do with Airbag which is fired from impact sensors.

Disconnect your speedo from behind the intercooler, knocks off said beeper, stops you putting on any miles too haha
