I think longun meant he was after a Impreza 2000 (if thats what the uk ones are called),not a MY00.

I have got to get a Scooby...

First I have a few questions:

1)I need to get one that is newer than three years old(Compay car scheme), is Uk spec and standard. The model I want is A Impreza 2000 I have about £13,000 to play with what are the chances. Mileage will make a difference in price but I don't really want one with loads of miles on it(I'm asking a lot here arn't I)

2)The reason I want this model is Insurance. I'm 21 years old with two years no claims and 3points for speeding SP50 what are my chances of being able in insure sure this type of car???

Any information would be appriciated any other young drivers out there have got a Model like this how much do you pay for insurance????

Many Thanks

P.S. If Badger (My Boss) is reading this then me and Pete are working really hard honest!!!!!

I'm not sure if this is a downer or not, but I'm 22 years old with 2 years no claims I payed approximately 2 grand with privilege on a T Reg RB5 which I suppose is a bit above standard, but I wouldn't see there being that much of a difference. I now pay 2 and a half grand on a modified WRX. Not too sure how I'm gonna cough up the money next year......

Hello there,

Are you after a Sport or a Turbo?

Check out the 'Private' section of the board, there are a couple of UK cars for sale this will/may give you a feel for price.

Must your car come from a dealer or can you buy privately?

For insurance I've found Barclays to be the best by far. They use Privilage and offer a reduced excess (flat £100).

Thanks for all the tips guys..

Blow dog: I'm not after a brand new one cuz I couldn't afford it. I'm after something newer than three years so I can get it on the car scheme, but something cheaper that 19K. I could get away with a MY97 but that is the oldest I could go to..

Alec: Thanks for the information on insurance costs I should with any luck be able to insure a Standard UK Turbo for about £1,500 then(I'll wake up in a bit).

Paul: I'm not fussy if it come's from a dealer or not as long as it's in good condition. And if someone on this board is selling it then that would give me a bit more confidence about buying private....

Thanks everone else as well if anyone else has some more information then that would be helpfull

Cheers....

P.S. Badger (me boss) Can I have a pay increase to fund this idea. Cuz it's your fault I now want one.....

Red face

BlowDog,

My premium was raised by 35% this year specifically because of a couple of speeding offences (SP60's admittedly). And this was with the NFU which are supposedly one of the cheaper insurance companies.

I eventually went with Barclays who were the best at about £880 (which also included for a few mods) with £100 xs.

Longun,

My MY98 (S reg) 5dr may be available in November. I would be asking more like £14,500 but its only 30,000miles, air-con, SS rear box, Brembo's, spare set of alloys and slicks, Cibies, CD autochanger, Barrier Deadlock.... the list is endless. O.k. she's been on the track, but I drive like an old woman 2 months to save up £1500

Hold that thought... I would definatly be interested in that!!!

The only ****** I've got is getting rig of the company car I've got at the moment because it has to be re-allocated to someone else in the company for my to go on the private car scheme..

I'm sure I could come up with the extra cash some how. How much would I get for a kidney or maybe a lung??????

My E-Mail address is longun@hotmail.com when the time comes give us first chance and I would be most greatful..

Why you selling?????

Thanks again everyone for helping so much!

Longon,

im 20 and pay £1000 per year on a MY00 heavy Modified UK car.

The snag is its a company fleet policy! as yours will be a company car then perhaps this could be an option!

We are with Lambert fenchurch insuarnse brokers

Hope that helped

Cool

Right. A few of you know me and know my car.

Here is my insurance on an MY97 WRX-with mods. I am 20, the cars garaged at night, and i have three years N.C.B

£2,300

I have 10 points for speeding so dont ever believe that it don't effect ya! (Mind you, 3 points may not be an issue!)

End of the day £2,300 ain't a lot for the most fun you can have with your clothes on is it!

Who are you lot insured with? Numbers would help if you've got any.

I've been getting quotes in excess of £2,000 and I was hoping to get insurace for about £1,700..

Thanks.
