Default Help required - re CEL fault code

Firstly, my CEL is on I disconnected the battery for about 3 days, but its still there.

So, how do I read the code? Im aware of the 2 connectors under the dash, but not sure in what sequence to connect them. ie, when do I turn the ignition, or maybe I dont even need to.

Can anyone help? Also, can anyone point my to where I can diagnose it once I have my code?

If I wasnt so skint i`d go get it read and fixed, but thats life

Cheers in advance for any help

Cliff

I should also probably say that this is an MY01 WRX if that makes a difference.

Cliff you have no chance with a bugeye you need to take it to a subaru garage and get them to hook up their delta dash to read the fault codes.connecting the connectors under the dash to read the fault codes only appliese to the classics.
