Question How much for a cat?

Looking at buying a 1999 sti, amongst other mods the has a HKS full exhaust system inc downpipe, mid section de-cat and rear box etc. The current owner doesnt have any of the cats that were taken off (im thinking there would have been 2???), so come MOT time it would obviously fail. How difficult is it to get hold of 2nd hand cats and roughly how much?

Or would i need a full standard exhaust system due to the diameter of the HKS pipe being larger than that of the standard so the cat wouldnt fit on?!?!?

mate theres only one cat on a 1999 sti. i have a 19999 sti 5 and ive just de catted it.you can still mot it if you know anybody, scooby clinic do mine. if you still want a cat, make me an offer, but dont forget you wil notice a difference in performance if you change back,i.e. SLOWER.

anything to get through the MOT, luckily its still got until April, I could always try and borrow one nearer the time?

Would scoobyclinic possibly pass it on emissions even with the de-cat?
