Unhappy Fuel flap doesn't open...

Thankfully not happened to me, but to a mate with a vw heh heh...
However i suppose it could.
Basically, pulled little lever by driver seat, ''ping'', lever goes all floppy and fuel cap doesn't open.
What should i do if it ever happens to me?
Bearing in mind no one wants to look like a right tit at the petrol pump .
Assuming they all work the same or thereabouts...
...I got a MY52 sti just in case they are different across the ranges.

OK

Unside the boot or the right hand side if you pull back the trim you should be able to pull the catch to open the fuel flap

Haven't tried this on a Subaru as I've only owned one for a few weeks but theres obviosly another way to get to the fuel flap and that is the way on any other car I've known.

Hope this helps
