Default Impreza STI

Hello guys i am a new member about to purchase a subaru Impreza STI type R.

Does anybody know when the first STI type R was released in England as an english car not an import.

I have HPI checked an STI and it came back saying it wasn't imported and the model was 'Unspecified (UK)' the sellar says it was manufactured in 1997 and is an import but the log book needs to be changed as it is incorrect.

Also it has black subaru badges, I have been led to belive that imported subaru's have pink badges?

If it helps to pinpoint the type of car it is its on a 'P' plate and has STI and 555 stiched into the seats.

Can anybody shed any light on weather this sounds ok or a bit dodgy and weather P plate STI's are available as english cars?

HI mate,
all classic STi's are imports... some were imported when new in 97/98/99 therefore were registered in the uk and had no japanese owners.
with regards to the badges they can easily be changed from pink to black and back again if you wish..
all 2 ddor subaru's were imports apart from the P1 which is an official UK car.

Cheers
p.s. check outt he sidc faq and you'll get the model numbers for the cars to confirm which it is... sounds like a V3 STi as they have the 555 interior.
