Default WRX or STi

Hi everybody.

I'm new to the forum and although i am not a scooby owner yet I am definatly looking into getting one.

I have just a few questions that I am struggling to find out so would love some of you to help me out

I would like to get a newer scooby nothing older than 03, at what point did the change from the bug eyed style come in?

How do you tell the difference between a WRX and a STi (its prob easy to answer but i dont know lol)

Does the large rear spoiler come as standard on the STi or not? if not at what cost would it be to change it?

Following on from above, why do cars advertised as STi there are no STi stickers on?

Whats the sort of things I need to look out for for a car of this age?

Think thats about it for now,

Cheers

Well i have owed a 01 bugeye wrx and a 53 sti so i can tell u the difference between the 2,much better seats, door trim, seats have sti in red on them, and r a blue suede effect i think its called as r the door trim, also the sti had alloy effect trim around the cd player, best thing to do is to get to your local dealer and have a look see what u think

Cheers for your help

One last question really. I was told the easiest way to tell the difference between the Sti and the WRX is the badge on the front is pink for the STi. Is this true? As i have seen 2 cars advertised as STi's but have small rear spoilers and dont seem to have a pink badge.

It was blue ,it maybe a real dark blue so it looks black but i'mm 99% sure it 's a shade of blue, ah what the **** do i know i've got a pink badge, and as my 3yr old Neice keeps telling me i've got a girls car!

But the point is it's the same colour be it WRX or STI

Dont go just by the colour of the badge! The engine codes will be different, red engine manifold, STi dials, fog covers, interior etc...

Big gold coloured Brembo brakes, front corner splitters, rear wing, larger scoob, red top manifold, blue suede effect interior, red struts(I think) etc etc

I think to a certain degree you're gonna have to really trust the seller unless you use a dealer, my classic has the STI logo on the Speedo dial, but again they're not hard to change.
Ideally you need someone located near you with a bit of knowledge of the New age model who would go to view a car with you, always good to have someone with an un-biased opininon.

Time for a new post me thinks?

Quite different to drive I think. Not in a bad way, its just the newer cars have come on a way in terms of handling setup.

I think the bugeye is a performance bargain and the STi looks fine - who bought a scoob for looks anyway!

That link didn't work. What they after for it? I wouldnt pay more than £12k for one.

That takes the ****!

03 cars are going for a min of £15k private, with average miles - and still has some warranty!
