sounds a bit steep for a k plate these days im selling mine for £3300 .first thing to check is if u can insure it mate i made the mistake of trying to insure it after buying mine only to find out it would cost me £1859 tptf otherwise check the cambelt has been done, it has a cat 1 alarm (insurers wont touch u without one) and make sure its been run on optimax since its been here . if in doubt take someone who knows their stuff mate there are a lot of ****ters out there at the mo

As good as this car may seem with prices at the moment you will be able to find i mint example for less than £4700. Like people have said its a buyers market so look around.

does anyone know of anyone selling a wrk for that price? also insurance seems a lot cheaper on a turbo 2000 would that be a better option to get experience with a subaru? how much could i get a nice example for?

Yes uk impreza's are cheaper to insure. I had a uk turbo 2000 MY97 p plate which sold for £5000. Uk cars are only available from 97 onwards so i dont think you will get a uk car as cheaply as you can pick up an import

As long as your over 25 with some no claims you should be able to insure it for under £1000 if not yuo're looking at stupid money! Insurers wont even touch me on an import yet!!

When I was checking insurance, got quoted £1200 for a UK Turbo, best I could get on an import was £3300 ( on a car worth £5K ! )
If you are young, have low no claims or havent been driving long, definitely check the quotes first before buying.
