Sti low mpg

Sti low mpg
I'm getting 16mpg from my MY03 STi with PPP. I don't drive it hard very often, mostly motorway and dual carriageway stuff. There is usually a smell of petrol from around the fuel-pump area after a run. Is this right ?

If I were you I'd take the back seat out and have a look at the pump...but what do I know
Do they change the fuel pump on STI PPP?

Not good, they do change the pump on going to PPP. I get between 20 (driven hard) to 31 mpg (as miss daisy) on the motorway. I'd take it to the dealer if it still has a warrenty

16mpg? That's about what I'm getting on my 05 STi PPP.
Glad I'm not the only one. Dealer will probably just say it's your driving. I was only getting about 18-19mpg out of my Focus RS.

Update:
Took car to dealer and was diagnosed as having an expanded fuel pump gasket and was subsequently replaced. My mpg figures have returned to normal and does pickup much better than before, also the smell of fuel has subsided.
Hope this helps.
