I think it looks quite nice, apart from that centre piece of the front bumper/grille. - Makes the front of it look a bit like a Seat.
I'd have to 'adjust' that with the hacksaw

I've heard that the guy who was responsible for the design also worked on Alfa's and Seat's hence the similarity.
I think it will become one of those designs that will grow on you after a while

I reckon it looks bloody awful to be honest as does my missus. It really does look likea SEAT motor from the front to me ....... what the hell were they thinking??? If the guy designs for SEAT why in the hell did he want to make a Subaru look like a SEAT??
I wonder if sales are going to suffer as a result of the new looks?

I'm sure some companies are going to come out with conversion kits to change the front grille and bumper pretty quickly.
Is it just me or does it look like they sort of tried to make it look more like the Evo front end, but bottled out half way through ?

You lot make me laugh. These same tired arguments were rolled out when the bugeye came out and when the blobeye appeared. In each case there are owners out there who have shown the way and bought the cars as they are because they liked them, or made subtle additions to toughen the looks up (see Members Gallery for more details)
I just can't understand why individuals will come on here and expect their take on taste to be the definitive answer to all things good. The solution is simple; if you like it you buy it, if you don't, you don't!
My view is that overall this design is a refreshing change from the previous ones, especially the now seriously dated original, so called classic design (thank goodness the latest designs are a world away from that tack). There are aspects that I like and aspects that don't hit my sweet spot but that won't stop the car sellling, especially when the Spec C (or should that be Spec D) comes out.
If we should be beefing about anything it should be about power and torque levels and on-road dynamics, not looks, ffs. Isn't that what really matters?
If looks bother you go out and get a new girlfriend or use that mcdonalds carrier bag on her. You know you want to
