Default Just had the Scoob broken into :( :(

Some **** has squeezed down the side of the drive and tried to break into the Scoob on the passenger side...

They've broken the passenger window to have a look in the glovebox - there wasn't even anything in there

Does anyone know how much it will cost to replace a passenger window on a blob eye

It's only bloody 18 months old...

Yeah but then wont I lose my No Claims - I'm 27 and currently 'only' paying £750 fully comp...

To make matters worse the *******s have scratched the length of the car by sueezing down the side...god I'm pissed off - and was on my way to work when I found out - which makes it even worse, as I'm gonna get bollocked for being late at work...

b******s, sorry about that. I have had mine (04wrx) scratched in car parks, spent £180 getting door redone 1 week after getting it so I know how annoying this can be.

hope you can get it sorted

<closing the stable door after the horse has bolted mode on>

When I parked my Scoob anywhere remotely dodgy in the UK, I left the glove box open to prevent such an incident. One reason this happens, is that many people leave the face off part to the stereo in there, and thieves know this.

I started leaving the glove box open because I had an old Cavalier broken into and they forced the locked glove box open to find an ice scraper, notebook and pen. Expensive lesson learnt.

Funnily enough, I don't fell the need to do this in Canada.

If you have fuly comp, then you should have glass cover, with excess of £50, which will NOT affect your no claims as it is deemed a seperate policy

Tell them you smashed it by accident, while loading the car, £50 later new window within a couple of hours too.

Sorry about the scratches though

Hope this helps,

Cookie

P.S i have done it twice myself

Cheers for that - car is now tucked away in my grans garage.

The *******s also levered a chunk out of the dash in a half hearted attempt to take the stereo (without the front plate) - I'm also gonna need the silver surround, new seal and a new black strip

On the plus side, house will be up for sale in the next couple of weeks - and I've made a deal with the missus for a Spec C

This might sound stupid but this actually good advice :0

My missus has a 15 y/o MX5 and in the 1st year she had it it was broken into twice, once smashing the window the second time cutting the rear cloth. We have since just left the glove box open and nothing <touch wood> has happened to it

until next time he's picked up.
