WRX STi Type RA V-Limited (How Much?)
Hi,
i am just after some advice please. How much should i be paying for the above with approximately 23,000 miles on it?
Its got some really nice goodies on it to boot, like a Gems ECU mapped by Steve Simpson, and it seems to have been looked after at no cost at all.
I look forward to replies.
Best Regards

Chaps...
just a bit mor information on this car. Its actually my new neighbour that is selling it to fund his new E46 M3.
He dropped all the documentation with me yesterday and there was easily well over £25,000 worth of receipts on modifications, parts, service and labour.
Its a WRX STi Type RA (V-Limited)
ScoobySport Exhaust / Downpipe
HKS Racing Suction Kit
Leda Coilovers
Stiffer ARBs
Uprated SX Fuel System
Uprated injectors
Gems ECU mapped by Steve Simpson
The car was also looked after by Option Motorsport / BG Autosport and a couple of other places.
The actual cars is in fantastic condition. Not a scratch on it and has only 23,000 miles.
Can anyone point me in the right direction exactly what the STi Type RA's specification is? I wasn't really fond of Scooby's after i drove a normal WRX a couple of years back and had my heart set on an Evo with my hard earned cash, until i drove this example. The difference between a normal WRX and STi is huge and compared to what you get in comparison to an Evo is so much more.
Is it true the STi Type RA (V-Limiteds) have a Grp N gearbox, stronger internals, quick steering rack, 5 speed close ratio box. Whatelse did they have?
What kind of reliable power can they handle in OEM engine trim. The one i am thinking of purchasing is has dyno plots of 350BHP / 340LB-FT!
Thanks

Where can i find the full spec of the Type RA cars?
Also it is a 2000 W plate. Does that make it a version 5 / phase 2 Sti engine?
It has the red top engine (red manifold) anyway.
Cheers

that sounds like scott davies' car!
I know it was well looked after, but I also know that option motorsport shouldn't be trusted with a lawnmower imho of course.
However I do recall that they could change the pistons in an impreza without taking the engine out! which I guess means they must be pretty good!
Its a great choice of car, as one of the best classics and will be in excellent condition if it is similar to when scott owned it.
I'd buy it, but I would get it remapped asap.

also it is a version 5, meaning it is a phase 2.
If it is scotts car, he thought it came with a closed deck block, but I don't think phase 2 ej20 closed deck blocks ever existed.

Looking at all the paperwork the car seems to come from Lincolnshire when it was first imported . Used to be owned by a chap called Glenn Everest or something?
I am at work now and don't have all the paperwork in front of me unfortunately.

Guys...
just to keep you updated, i purchased this car. The owner handed me the keys today and i took it for a couple of hours. I am f*cking gob smacked. Its easily around 350BHP/340LB-FT, i may just get Steve Simpson to remap it though for the peace of mind, since when pulling off slowly there is a slight judder.
Overall i am very impressed, acceleration with that close ratio box is mental, as is the handling, grip and of course the looks (sonic blue with P1 rims).
BTW this is Scott Richard's old car which was featured in Jap Performance a few years back.
Finally...now considering the car has only 27,000 genuine miles, what work should i get done to it if any? When is the next major service interval?
Am well chuffed...
Best Regards
PS: I still think my Rev 3 MR2 Turbo would out drag it, but around bends...bye bye MR2!

It has some very nice mods on it, such as the Gems ECU and the HKS front mount intercooler. It also has a Turbodynamics hybrid turbo of somre sort too.
Its definately a 2000, but not sure if its a V5 or V6.

Nope it doesn't have that. Must be a V5.
