Steam cleaning STi engine? Good or bad idea?
I know from experiences in the past you have to cover up certain parts of the engine otherwise it just ****s up.
This actually happened to me with some people who did my old car.
Any tips?

Cling film comes in very handy to wrap any electrical plugs and connectors.
But to be honest a good covering of factory wax and accumulated oil helps to protect the engine.

Cant understand how cleaning the engine bay can mess up an engine?
When it rains what gets all over and in to the engine......
Rain/muck and theres no cling film or grease to prevent this?
Have used power hoses many times to clean the engine, and have never had any problems.
But hey thats just me..

When it rains, water gets in from the bottom up, jet washing is from the top down... think about it
