Never mentioned this before but does anyone think its naff the way there isn't anywhere to store the fuel cap when filling up - I have to leave it carefully dangling down on the bodywork... or am i missing a hidden technique.

I let the cable bit drape across the locking catch on the flap, but it has occasionally dropped off 'Tis a bit $h!t

when i first re-fuel mine i thought the cap must slot into the door somehow? after messing about a bit i gave up. surely it wouldn't be too difficult to reshape the frame inside the door to make it slot in! the little things make all the difference!

I put mine between the pump handle and the trigger,Saves me holding onto the pump. When its full just clicks as normal remove cap from pump and re-fit to car.Lazy i know but works.

You can screw it into the now open petrol flap...though it takes time to master

1. Release fuel lid, open door, climb out & walk round to fuel cap
2. Twist fuel cap anticlockwise
3. With the fuel cap in your hand rest the white plastic part (the threaded part) into the fuel cover flap
4. Twist clockwise gently at some point the thread will grip against the fuel flap & hold, do not overtwist
5. Reverse procedure to undo, though don't forget to pay for the petrol

Thats wierd, my classic has a storage bit inside the cover similar to the way it is on those pics. I wonder why they stopped that then. One up for the classics eh!

I tried it today, but couldn't 'screw it in' at all.


Luckily though, it just stayed where I'd tried to screw it! Cool, no more dangling cap for me!

Have a few more goes, at getting it in the hole. Remeber it helps to have a wide stance whilst screwing.... :0
