Angry Leaky boot lid..??

I've got water ingress in my boot on my MY03 WRX. It only comes in on the passenger side (nearside) of the boot though and seems to be getting worse.

I've had a glance and am currently thinking it may be where the boot spoiler attaches to the bootlid..?

Anyone else had a similar thing happen to them..?

Nige.

could be that, or possibly the rear light cluster leaking, the classics are prone to that... not sure about the newage ones.... i de-spoilered mine to stop water getting in!!!

It might pay to fold down the back seats and get into the boot with a torch while getting someone to drench the rear of the car for you. You should see where it's getting in. Could also use talc to show where the drips are.

OK, get this....

I've figured out and caught my leaky bootlid red handed.
I live on a hill. The road has a camber. I park my car nose down on the hill on the correct side of the road, cos that's what it says to do in the highway code (reflectors to the rear) ;o)

Opened my boot today to witness a waterfall straight in there. Looked at the corner where the back window is and there's a fecking great puddle sat there..!!! So... It puddles up in the little triangle shaped bit below the back window (on a hill with a camber remember...), then when it gets high enough, it sneaks in past the seal..!!!!

WTF..!!?!?!? Is it supposed to run somewhere else? Or does my seal need changing under warranty. I thought leaky cars ended in the early 80's..???!!

My boot used to leak all the time on my classic shape scoob, could not think what it was, until I realised it only happened when I parked on my drive which was a steap hill, The water used to fill up on the back and go over the seals and into the boot as you explained v8voodoo.
