i'm assuming your car is a UK model? so with that in mind i believe the boost should be 11.47psi, dropping to 9.47psi after 6500rpm ish. With Fuel-cut @ 14.87psi

i believe the Jap cars run more boost on 1995/6 models on but only very slightly, just over 1psi more i think.

someone may correct me as i have this sneeky feeling the newer uk models had a slight boost increase as well.

i dont believe there is mate, and it's very easy to get around the fuel cut off, maybe your car has a super chip fitted which is a fuel cut contoller blown up in price.!!

although aftermarket controllers can be bought for very little money.

i myself am planning on putting the boost up on my own Uk 1995 car, i actually tried it today with a dawes device but i think i was puttng it in all wrong... when i do get it sorted i wont be putting the boost over 14psi.

to be honest mate, i have no idea if 14psi is safe or not...subaru have not given any leeway in my eyes for tuning these things. i've owned cossies, Gtirs and celicas and all were, or at least seem to be more tunable in standard trim than the scoob i have now.

i dont want to blow the thing up either but i cant live with it the way it is just now... it's soooooooo slow. but in saying that all 3 previous cars were over 320bhp the cossie being the highest at over 360, so i dare say it is slow compaired to those.

not sure how diff they are but mine is tee'd right near the wastegate(well think that is what it is) when looking at engine on left near the turbo one pipe goes straight to the inner wing into some module. if anyone has an idea what i'm on about let me know because i haven't got a clue. anyway thats where its tee'd off. think it may be wrong then

what you think

the module you refer to is the solenoid valve the pipe comes from the actuator into that contraption and as far as i'm aware it shouldn't be a problem having it tee'd in there.

although personally i wouldn't have done that.

You dont want to run more than about 1.2 bar peak, a remap would be better though.

Mods and remap are your best way, depends on where your going with your mods though, what do you have in mind?

Dont know if that picture will appear I'll get it into my gallery and post again anyway. My RB5 has standard boost and after thorough testing yesterday after install of gauge mine is boosting 12.5 to 13 psi steady. Getting a boost controller to up to 14 this week though. Tried friends old one yesterday but think it was knackered as was getting overboost all the time.

Get use to the way the car handles first, then look at a full decat exhaust with a DRY panel filter (not an oil one) and a remap, should be good for around 270bhp, id also look at the brakes before doing this, they do need sorting, even the subaru 4 pots (discs and pads are a good way to go but a kit is better check out places like www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk )

Already has a stainless centre section and back box. think its decat. (no box). a green cotton air filter, the three pod centre dash thingy (with boost, water temp and oil temp) only the boost is connected tho. it also has the subaru 4 pot brakes on it. its booked in this week to be lowered 35mm and laser alligned to the prodrive settings(for better handling so the bloke in the shop told me. but it will eat tyres quicker)
