You dont want to run more than about 1.2 bar peak, a remap would be better though.
That is too high IMHO for a classic with a cat-back. On a warm day, with a good trash and with that downpipe cat still in place 1.2 bar peak could lead to det IMHO. With a full decat 1.2 bar peak would probably be fine. I'd not be comfortable going above 1.1 bar peak without removing the downpipe cat. The best way to know is to get a knocklink and that way you can run it near the edge of detonation.

FWIW when I put my scooby back to standard I still ran it with the dawes for a while and generally ran it at around 1-1.1 bar.

I have a 1996 uk wagon, it was peaking at 13psi as standard, fitted a dawes device and fuel cut defender so it now runs 17psi,makes a huge difference that few extra pounds! Cars also fully de-cated and running uprated fuel pump and fsi fuel regulator, made 315bhp at flywheel at an RR Day this year, been running this boost for over a year with no problems...so far!

errrr 1.2bar is 17.4psig ( 1 bar = 14.504psig )

If you remove both cats it is unlikely that it will pass the MOT

Cheers
