Default Rear fog light

When I bought my car from an infamous imported in Keighley, it came with an MOT.
Just reliased it has no rear fog light. Do I have some sort of claim against the dealer, as it can't have had one for the MOT, and I'm sire they're compulsory?

if I have to put one on, can I put uk rear lights on and wire the fog light up to a switch?

I would be more worried about what else they may have missed.

Go back mate, not worth the risk plus why should you go to the expense of fitting one. They are compulsory.
How old is the car out of interest?

Being over 10 years old means it wouldn't of needed an SVA test when it was imported so the fog light was probably overlooked. Still shouldn't of got through an MOT without one though. How come you have only just noticed?

Any instructions kicking around how to do that? Can fit UK rear lights, and wire into the fog lights?

pwhittle, the front and rear fog lights need to be wired to independant switches. In most cases, a live is taken from under the dash, passed through a single switch (which also has to illuminate when the fog light is on) and the single wire fed through to the rear o/s reversing light. All that is then needed is a red bulb, or red lens tape.

I would be asking how the car passed an MoT without a rear fog light - haven't they been compulsary since the 1970's???

Is there a switch that u dont know what it does ???
If so, good chance its for the rear fog, and wiring may be in place , just tucked up somewhere.
