It would be interesting to know if WR1 is on the logbook, or UK300 etc, as these are established models and would be a good guideline if indeed the car is just registered as a WRX.
More worryingly, on the resale side of things, how is anyone actually going to believe you in a few years when you say its a WRX300??? Anybody with a WR Blue WRX could get the SWRT stuff, gold wheels and PPP and claim it is actually a 300.
I'm starting to get that sinking feeling that we might have been sold down the river by Subaru.

I know some insurers are starting to recognise it as a model, but if that isnt what is on the logbook, it is always going to be a modified WRX in the eyes of most insurers.

I've just tried to ring DVLA...
It is absolutely impossible to get through to a human. There is no option whatsover to break out of the automation to speak to a human. I am really pissed off......

The car will be down as the model, ie production model, so a WR1 should be a WRX STi, a wrx300 should be an Impreza WRX, alterations are not added (as in special editions) on a DVLA document as that is not what the car started life as.

I'm not being funny here, nor am I wishing to be unpopular, but I think Subaru dropped a big clanger here. I have just bought a WRX in WR blue with free PPP and paid £19150 with a book trade in. I looked at the WRX 300 but couldn't see that the same wheels sprayed gold, some fancy seats and fog light covers were worth the extra money. As I say I don't mean to ridicule those that bought a WRX 300. I might be the loser, but in MYHO it didn't make sense.

....the ONLY reason I got the WRX300 was insurance £360, a WRX was £460, and the best I had with PPP was £680......

Totally happy with my wrx300 - i worry about the other drivers who don't keep their eyes on the road when staring at the car (including police) - i'm sure someone will crash soon!
