Was just reading up on the Type 25 out of interest (cannot afford one). There are very few indications of current power levels. Ian's site does not seem to have any info, other than the current ones have more power than the originals..
Any ideas peeps?

"Sufficient", as employees of Rolls Royce used to say ;-)

Hmmm, not that much more than a TSL JDM STI 05 then. I know its not just about the power, there is always more to it than that. For the cost I was thinking that it would be closer to the 400bhp mark.
This may open a can of worms, but there will not be much between a standard M3, and a Type 25 in a straight line. Not too much difference in price either.
Dunno what I'm on about, by the time I can afford either I'll be an old man....

This is what Mog's car made out of the box
That's 392 ftlb of torque!
When I have the new airbox fitted I'll post up my numbers.

I'm seriously interested in the Type 25. But i'm also a little concerened about the status of the 25 after the MY06 comes out with the suppositvley 2.5 engine in it also.
I know the suspension will be loads better on the 25.
But with 396ft/lbs of torque who cares about it just having a conservative 350bhp. Give me torque any day.
Maybe Iain can elaborate. I know he reads these forums.

more than likely due to the massive torque and the gearing of the t25

Kevin,
I have been on holiday so have only just read the post. The difference between the way Type25 delivers its power is very different to Subaru's normal 2.5 STI. The engines are totally different to begin with Theres details on our Type 25 site www.type-25.com
We have tested and tuned a number of USDM STI's, in fact I imported the first one into the UK for Ecutek to develop their software , the MY06 car will be good but I think anyone chasing high bhp will be in for an expensive shock
Big power out of the 2.0l JDM Twinscroll is relatively straight forward but that does have to be balanced off with lots of other issues like warranty, appearance, noise, track use etc. I'm going to sound like Mike soon
As I’ve said on my site I don’t think the work Powerstation has done on Spec C’s (or Type 25’s for that matter) could have been tested more rigorously over the years So far we have had to do no engine warranty work at all and there is quite a few JDM cars out there
Feel free to call me and I'll run through the details
Regards
Iain

Out of interest, why does the above quote apply to the MY06?
Is it because it looks like an Alfa lol!

Better an Alfa than a Toyota!
Caveat: As long as it doesn't have the reliability probs of an Alfa!
