Default Warranty - Who owns the car now????

I am the second owner on a 52 WRX which is still under Subaru warranty.
The warranty runs out in September and i was wondering having read about Subaru renewal quotes, how Subaru are going to offer me an extended warranty.
Do i need to register with Subaru direct or the does having my car serviced by
a Suabru franchised dealer somehow get me on the Subaru hit list.
Any info appreciated.

When you bought the car you should have received the warranty booklet. At the back is a form which you can fill in as the new owner of the car and send to IM (plus £25 admin fee). I think you were supposed to get the seller to sign the form too but I would guess IM would take a copy of the new V5 in your name.

I've recently bought a used car and didn't realise that you had to notify them or pay £25 are you sure

Subaru assist was dealt with over the phone.

I sold my UK Turbo in Jan with an extended warranty and phoned Subaru to confirm the transfer procedure. The told me about the form (at the back of the service book) and the admin charge (which could have been £20 rather than £25 ... I forget). The guy that bought it registered and has subsequently had some work done on the car under warranty. AFAIK, this is the only way to register a Subaru warranty if you didn't buy the car from a Subaru dealer (which I assumed nik52wrx hadn't) ... unless the procedure's different for unextended warranties.

Its only extended warrantys that need to be transfered to new owner at a cost of £25 first 3 year warranty is delt with by dealer and if they have done this properly you should get a letter offering extended warranty just before the cars 3 years old.
