Views on Subaru Extended Warranty?
I picked up an 02 bugeye STI Prodrive 5 weeks ago thats now done 30.5k miles.
Subaru said they would charge about £400 a year for extended warranty that will cover the car for the year up to a max of 60k on the clock.
Cars completely standard prodrive (no engine mods). Is it worth £400 a year?
I know it depends if i go down the mod route. I dont expect i would add on the PPP package but might be tempted with a remap at some point.
Main question being if i was to keep it standard do these engines frequently play up??
My last car was bought from new and it was nice to have the warranty to get any problems fixed.

My opinion is "yes", it's worth doing for that price (you get the Subaru breakdown cover as well), after I think 5 years the cost of extending goes through the roof, which is why hardly anybody purchases it (hope you are reading this SUBARU UK), my MY00 has had a new clutch, MAF, replacement clutch release bearing and a small oil leak fixed under warranty, total cost for all of that over the 3 years I've had the car would have been the best part of £2k, if you intend to go down the modding route then the answer is no, as the warranty gous out the window, (unless it's PPP).

Thanks for all the replies!! Looks like i might as well go ahead with it at least for a year while i get used to the car and then if i feel the need to mod will wait till the warranty runs out then start
Nows lets hope they dont decide to whack the price up or pretent they quoted for different car.
