hi all since getting a new clutch fitted on my93 wrx a couple of weeks ago i have been getting a grinding noise from my gearbox when up and down shifting into 3rd gear except when i really shove the clutch pedal to the floor and now its doing it when i shift up into 2nd it doesnt make this noise all the time it is very intermittant. is this a gearbox or clutch fault or is this normal i have only just got the car and its my first impreza or maybe its just down to me being lazy advice needed before i go out and source another box !!!!!!!!!!!!

If it's only done it since the clutch was done, then surely it's clutch related??

will the clutch need bleeding you think also i just checked the g/box oil and it has slightly to much in would that have a effect

The gearbox oil being slightly too high, is actually a good thing to a point, it would be worth bleeding the clutch, it's a pig though, the slave cylinder sits right under the intercooler!

Sounds like it just needs a touch of adjustment. The place that fitted it for you should do it foc as they obviously didn't get it quite right first time.
